Summary
This article aims to address the challenges faced by pedagogical coordinators in the management of a public school in the municipality of Feira de Santana, Bahia, seeking to understand the relationship between family and school and the obstacles that arise in this context. This study is based on the experience of a Supervised Internship in Management and Pedagogical Coordination. In this regard, our guiding question is: What challenges do pedagogical coordinators of a public school in the municipality of Feira de Santana face in mediating the family-school relationship? The study is anchored in the critical theoretical framework of the field of educational policy and democratic management. The methodology used was documentary research and participatory research. The results of the analysis indicate that the school seeks, through actions, to involve families in important decisions and maintain an ongoing dialogue with the school community.
