SUMMARY
This work is a participatory research project based on the experience of teaching initiation at PIBID. The research aimed to understand the contributions of playful activities and theatrical games to the development of fourth-grade children at a public school in the municipality of Irecê, Bahia. The research was conducted in the 2071.2 semester, within the axis designated by the school as "Human Education Cycle - Comprehensive and Integrated Education, and Comprehensive and Integrated Development," and involved observations of art classes. The study continued with further observations and a semi-structured interview with the art teacher responsible for the aforementioned class. The reports describe their playful practices applied in the classroom and also analyze the work carried out in the production of Ziraldo's play "Flicts" (1969). Like theater, theatrical games and performances provide insights into the valorization of theater in schools. The reflections provide clues for considering children's development, based on their eloquence in speech, body posture, creativity in bringing the character to life on stage, and especially the loss of shyness in theatrical construction when introducing their role. The class's growth was noticeable through the theater games, especially that of student Pinocchio, who, in observations during some classes, appeared introspective and little interactive. In the writing, it was decided to include pseudonyms to identify the participants while protecting their identities.
