Rural Education emerged from the struggles of peasant social movements to guarantee free, high-quality public education for all, in opposition to agrarian capitalism, which uses economic, political, intellectual and social power to impose its ideologies in the service of capital.
This work addresses Rural Education in Brazil and Latin America as a process of counter-hegemonic resistance, bringing together 21 articles by powerful researchers engaged in studies on the subject, with the objective of promoting reflections on Rural Education as a tool for training, human emancipation and social transformation, presenting political and pedagogical experiences experienced in the Brazilian and Latin American educational scenario.
